5/sept/12 Why agricultural innovation, efficiency gains and intensification are important.

What are your thoughts on this question????

Dylan – Agriculture has changed heaps and has helped by giving us more food and more clothes.

Cara – With the growing population, everyone is trying to find a quicker and less costly way to grow produce.

Aleasha – With the populations growing, farmers are trying to find more efficient and cost effective ways of producing food and fibre

Paris – because it allows for the production of better quality products, at a cheaper price

Braydon P – you get better food

Curtis – on farms it allows the profit margin to increase because the labour costs are lower, BUT the cost of the innovative technology for machinery is higher a cotton picker and baler costs approximately $2M while an older style cotton picker is $500K. The new varieties of cotton cost more but we use less pesticides.
